In the clip, Fatma Said talks about her passion for diversity, musical challenges from baroque arias to tango, and what the Konzerthaus Berlin means to her.
The Cairo-born soprano feels right at home at Gendarmenmarkt anyway, having studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music! Her first performance is scheduled for August 28, when we will once again open all halls to our audience for our "Open Day. On September 1, Fatma Said will celebrate the release of her new album with a jazz trio and other guests, on which she will present a typically versatile mix of classical, tango, jazz and pop music.
The trio playing on September 17, on the other hand, is wonderfully classical-romantic. With two of her highly esteemed chamber music partners, clarinettist Sabine Meyer and pianist Malcolm Martineau, our artist in residence will interpret works by Schumann, Schubert, Lachner and Spohr.
