As the operator of this website, Konzerthaus Berlin endeavors to make the website and its mobile application accessible. The legal basis for this is the Berlin Barrier-free Information and Communication Technology Act (BIKTG Bln). This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the web presence and mobile application of www.konzerthaus.de.

How accessible is the service?

The website is not fully barrier-free.

Which areas are not barrier-free?

Control elements and images partially have incorrect or insufficient alternative text

  • Actions: Meaningful and unique alternative text is entered for each image and control. Images with information must also not be hidden from the screen reader.
  • Schedule: For newly added photos, the alternative texts are entered immediately.
  • The website www.konzerthaus.de comprises over 4,700 pages. Therefore, alternative texts for older photos can only be revised gradually, with the aim of completing the full adaptation by the end of 2025.

Need for improvement in form elements

  • Actions: Form field labels are added or corrected.
  • When a form generates error messages, they should be understandable and provide instructions on how to correct the error. In the case of forms, a mechanism for checking, correcting or confirming the data entered is installed.
  • Schedule: Implementation by July 2024 is planned.

Error with the keyboard operability

  • Actions: All elements of the site should be accessible by keyboard, including submenu items, videos, or filter selections, so that screen reader users and people with motor impairments can fully navigate the site.
  • Timeline: The aim is to implement this as part of the planned relaunch by the end of 2025.

The website has various contrast errors
