Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Joana Mallwitz
Don't worry, the Berlin autumn won't be grey! At the first moderated family concert of the season, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin will take you into the dazzling realm of fairy tales and colours. It will be supported by young musicians from the C.P.E. Bach Music High School, and Berlin schoolchildren will artistically design the colourful fairytale story.
The work by the British composer Anne Clyne is called „Color Field“, in which a dive deep into the colours yellow, red and orange is hidden. Igor Stravinsky's „Firebird“ also bears many bright colours in its plumage. The music to the folk tale of Prince Ivan, who together with the aforementioned mythical bird wants to free his princess held captive by an evil sorcerer, contains many folkloristic motifs. At the end of the fairy tale about a secret garden, a magic feather, courage, helpfulness and hope, good naturally triumphs over evil.
