Weihnachtskonzert des Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Gymnasiums
One psychological reason for procrastination or pathological procrastination is perfectionism: at the beginning, what has been started is not immediately finished, it is unfinished and therefore not perfect. Or is it? This program by the Konzerthausorchester with Joana Mallwitz and Tabea Zimmermann proves the opposite. Franz Schubert's music was the initial spark for Joana Mallwitz to spend her life with music - his “Unfinished” makes “the hereafter audible” for her again and again. For Tabea Zimmermann, the viola in Bartók's Concerto for Viola “sings, dances, cries and comforts” in a way that leaves nothing to be desired. And finally, the suite to Puccini's opera “Turandot” is full of musical drama on the big questions of life. Its impressive conclusion becomes a call for us to face these questions again and again.
