Neujahrskonzert mit dem Konzerthausorchester Berlin
After a great career as a pianist and chief conductor with other renowned orchestras in Europe and the United States, Christoph Eschenbach has been our chief conductor since the beginning of the 2019/20 season: „I was fascinated by the special history of the Konzerthaus Orchestra and its house with its ups and downs that reflects the history of Berlin.”
The Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Principal Conductor Christoph Eschenbach will perform three particularly festive programmes in 2020/21 – to open the season, at the turn of the year and 200 years to the day after the inauguration of the building as part of our bicentennial gala on 26 May 2021. There will always be wonderful music by Carl Maria von Weber, whose romantic opera “Der Freischütz” celebrated its world premiere shortly after the building opened on Gendarmenmarkt.
