Weihnachtskonzert des Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Gymnasiums
“His music has something supernatural, untouchable, almost unattainable about it, and yet he was so human,” says violinist Daniel Hope about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In addition to works by the Viennese genius, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Hope will also perform pieces by Joseph Haydn and Christoph Willibald Gluck. And there's a violin concerto by Joseph Bologne, violin virtuoso and composer during the French Revolution with an unusual biography: He was the son of a French nobleman and a slave from Guadeloupe, as well as a feared fencer in the Légion des Américains et du Midi!
