Rundgang
On Good Friday, Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus. It is a day of deep mourning, which also speaks from Benjamin Britten's powerful confession against war. Verses by the poet Wilfred Owen, who was killed at the age of 25 in the First World War, and the Latin text of the Mass for the Dead alternate in his accusatory „War Requiem“, which was first performed in 1962 in Coventry Cathedral, which had been destroyed by the German Luftwaffe in 1940 and rebuilt.
