cappella academica, Christiane Silber
Really old and extremely lively: For many seasons now, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin has been demonstrating how thrilling music from the 17th to the early 19th century can sound in its own series at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
Many of Bach's best-known melodies today come from his orchestral suites. Hearing these magnificent, dance-like instrumental works performed by Akamus is a special experience, because the ensemble has a particularly close connection to the great composer's music: it is a regular guest at Bach festivals around the world, and in 2014 became the first ensemble to receive the Bach Prize from the city of Leipzig.
