Führung durch das Konzerthaus Berlin
We are delighted to welcome Iveta Apkalna as Organist in Residence at the Konzerthaus Berlin for the next three seasons.
Don't miss a special treat on June 24: Her St. John's Eve organ concert from one minute to midnight!
In the 2022/23 season, our "Organist in Residence" Iveta Apkalna can first be experienced as a soloist: On September 4, she will play works by two kings of organ composition, namely Thomaskantor Johann Sebastian Bach and French organist and composer Charles-Marie Widor.
Anyone who previously believed that the largest of all instruments only showed off to its best advantage on its own should come to one of the concerts on March 31 or April 1-2, 2023, which will be conducted by Japanese conductor Yutaka Sado with the Konzerthausorchester and soloist Iveta Apkalna. Then Aaron Copland's "Symphony for Organ and Orchestra" from 1924, which the composer wrote at the beginning of his career, will be heard.
Something special is waiting for all organ fans on April 30, one minute before midnight: the organ concert for Walpurgis Night, fittingly with Petr Eben's "Faust", for which the organ will be joined by Max Hopp as speaker.
In a surprise concert with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Georges Bizet, Paul Dukas, Philip Glass and others, Iveta Apkalna will conclude the second season of her three-year residency with us on June 18.
Welcome to Iveta Apkalna!
