Growing up in a family of musicians in Alsace and inspired early on by Django Reinhardt, he developed his own distinctive style at a young age. His career has taken him from gypsy jazz to fusion to modern trio and solo formats. His musical partners include such greats as Stéphane Grappelli, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucía, and Stanley Clarke.
