Konzerthausorchester Berlin, RIAS Kammerchor, Joana Mallwitz
Our composer in residence Bryce Dessner now writes mainly works for symphony orchestras and classical musicians, but is also known as a founding member of the indie band The National. He has invited artist friends from both spheres to this evening in the Small Hall and will be picking up his guitar himself. On the programme: piano pieces, lullabies and highlights from the soundtrack to Train Dreams, which earned him an Academy Award nomination together with Nick Cave. French folk singer Mina Tindle will perform songs from her new album Compass Rosa, and the string players of the renowned Quatuor Zaïde will bring classical timbres to the stage. Incidentally, they will once again perform a work by Bryce in their quartet concert on 26 May.
