AGGREGATE is an international festival for automated and contemporary organ music. In 2026, it will take place for the first time in collaboration with the Konzerthaus. It is curated by gamut inc, the Berlin-based organ duo founded by Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki.

This season, gamut inc is the resident ensemble for the organ series at the Konzerthaus. To mark their residency, the Jehmlich organ in the Great Hall has been converted into a ‘hyper-organ’. For the first time, the instrument can now be controlled directly via a computer using a MIDI interface. The opening concert of the sixth edition of AGGREGATE will be entirely devoted to exploring these new possibilities.

Alongside works by electronic musician Rrose (Seth Hrovitz) and the duo Sollmann Sprenger, gamut inc will present compositions newly created during their residency: together with the American composer, they have set about interpreting Laurie Spiegel’s ‘The Expanding Universe’, which is regarded as a milestone in electronic music. For the first time, gamut inc will perform two movements of the work on a grand organ, entirely without loudspeakers. To conclude, they will present an expanded version of their “dialogue de l’orgue double” – now a dialogue between the wind-dynamic modular organs BLACK SQUARE, developed for gamut inc, and the new Konzerthaus hyper-organ.

The second day of the AGGREGATE Festival will take place at St Hedwig’s Cathedral. Tickets for this event on 1 October and a Festival Ticket for both events are available from gamut inc.
