Big orchestra on a big screen

The season opening, streamed live from the Konzerthaus Berlin – on 12 September at the open-air cinema Friedrichshain

Fancy experiencing the season opener from the Konzerthaus Berlin under the summer evening sky? You can, via livestream! As you sit back in your deckchair and raise a glass to this cultural experience, the stage at the Gendarmenmarkt fills with the musicians of the Konzerthaus Orchestra.

When the acclaimed principal conductor Joana Mallwitz takes to the podium, enthusiastic applause breaks out. The room falls silent, the tension rises, and you can hear a pin drop before the first note is played. Watch the strings’ fingers at work, get up close to the wind section, become part of the grand classical music audience at your favourite open-air cinema, and let yourself be swept away: From waltzes from Richard Strauss’s legendary opera *Der Rosenkavalier*, Unsuk Chin’s powerful *Subito con forza*, the whirlwind of Maurice Ravel’s masterpiece *La Valse*, and the most beautiful passages from Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet music for *Romeo and Juliet*. We hope that, once again this season, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin will send you off into the summer night feeling very happy.

On 12 September at the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Friedrichshain Open-Air Cinema.
