Sommerliche Führung durch das Konzerthaus Berlin
Ever since his debut in the role in Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo” ten years ago, Rolando Villazón has been captivated by the Orpheus myth and the power of music. From Jacopo Peri’s “Euridice” – considered the first documented opera performance, staged in Florence in 1600 – through Monteverdi (1607) to Luigi Rossi (1647), Antonio Sartorio (1673) and beyond, the tenor journeys through time in the footsteps of the tragic hero with the lyre. He is accompanied by Christina Pluhar and her renowned ensemble, L’Arpeggiata.
