In 2016, ensemble unitedberlin presented the work of eight young composers living in Berlin as part of the ECHOLOT project at the Konzerthaus Berlin. They had the opportunity to introduce themselves through a world premiere and to speak to the audience about their professional circumstances.

Over the past ten years, Berlin’s composer scene has developed dynamically, and so this concert is dedicated to taking a fresh “stock-take#” – featuring the awarding of composition commissions and short video interviews, which will be shown as an introduction to the concert and will also be available on the ensemble unitedberlin website.

ensemble unitedberlin has set out a framework for the composition commissions: the new works are being created for a string quartet, expanded to include an additional medium – such as voice, video, dance or electroacoustic elements.

The project is being developed in collaboration with the Nice International Music Festival and Academy (NIMFA) in Nice.
