Rolf Riehm (1937–2026) was one of the most original figures in contemporary music; his death has left a huge void in the world of music. To mark the first anniversary of his death on February 14, 2027, ensemble mosaik will pay tribute to him with a concert. Alongside the central composition “Hawking” from 1998, the programme will feature pieces from his early and late works. The evening is not only a musical tribute, but also a dialogue on art and responsibility, on intellectualism and resistance – themes that make his work so unique and indispensable.
