Memories are sounds that linger. Spanning autobiographical soundscapes, political testimony and two new musical perspectives, the programme traces a path from personal recollection to collective memory. Oxana Omelchuk’s “Memories. Tape I” reconstructs the acoustic world of her childhood, whilst Frederic Rzewski’s “Coming Together” imbues a single voice with universal significance. The world premieres by Elaine Mitchener and Nina Šenk shed light on contemporary questions of identity, community and artistic renewal. Together, they form a project exploring what connects people: remembering, listening and the power of shared experience.
