Rundgang
In the artistic work of Berlin-based musician and composer Cassie Kinoshi, the boundaries between contemporary classical music, jazz, and improvisation blur. She performs as a jazz saxophonist at major jazz festivals and composes for orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra. She shares her keen interest in cross-genre projects with Stephan Stadtfeld, a trumpeter with the Konzerthaus Orchestra and director of the 15-member Large Ensemble. Together with musicians from Berlin’s jazz scene and the Konzerthaus Orchestra, they celebrate the sonic diversity and warmth of large ensembles as well as the freedom of improvisation. The highlight will be the world premiere of a new work written by Cassie Kinoshi for this unique ensemble.
In our series “Berlin – Music of the City at the Konzerthaus,” musicians and ensembles from Berlin come together to experimentally blend classical Western music from various centuries with styles that all call this city home—from voguing to strings and synthesizers to jazz. Berlin Tracks aims to inspire, connect communities, and invite audiences to follow different musical paths that together make up the soundtrack of our city. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
