Berlin Tracks: AFAR & Kai Schumacher

„Changing Rules“ – elektronische Klangwelten und modernes Klavierrepertoire

Werke von John Cage, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, AFAR, Kai Schumacher und anderen

Using analog synthesizers, electric guitar, and vocals, the Berlin-based duo AFAR bridges the gap between nature and industry, creating new, multi-instrumental soundscapes. The collaborative experiment “Changing Rules” with pianist Kai Schumacher intersperses modern piano repertoire by John Cage, Philip Glass, and Steve Reich.

In our series “Berlin Tracks – Music of the City at the Konzerthaus,” musicians and ensembles from Berlin come together to experimentally blend classical Western music from various centuries with styles that all call this city home – from voguing to strings and synthesizers to jazz. “Berlin Tracks” aims to inspire, connect communities, and invite audiences to follow different musical paths that together make up the soundtrack of our city.
