Workshops for young people in Marzahn-Hellersdorf
From March to the end of June 2026, regular weekly workshops were held in the areas of community music, band work, music production/rap, radio drama production and dance.
The workshops were held at three different youth centres and at an initial reception centre for refugees in Marzahn-Hellersdorf: together with the workshop leaders Boris Hermann, Claudia Garbe, Georg Drömert, Nicolas Haumann and Romy Hink, the children, teenagers and young adults wrote and composed their own music, developed choreographies, recorded a radio play and jammed.
Three musicians from the Konzerthausorchester Berlin – bassoonist Tobias Reikow, violinist Christoph Kulicke and violist Uwe Emmrich – also visited the centres, played music together with the groups and, amongst other things, recorded hip-hop samples.
At the summer party on 26 June, the young people put on a fantastic performance on the stage of the music club at the Konzerthaus Berlin, to which friends and family were also invited.

We are impressed and proud of everyone involved and are delighted that the projects can be continued and further expanded following the extension of the Youth Culture Initiative.
