Melanie Richter studied in Berlin at the Julius Stern Institute with Boris Blacher and Koji Toyoda and at the Berlin University of the Arts with Jan Tomes.
What do you enjoy most about being an orchestral musician?
Immersing myself in the wonderful orchestral sound gives me goosebumps.
Is there an instrument other than your own that you would like to master?
I would like to be able to play the trumpet, which I tried once. But it always made me dizzy.
What do you do before a concert?
Everyday things. I often go shopping or tidy up. And I warm up, of course.
