The Israeli pianist Yaron Herman is a permanent fixture on the jazz scene in his adopted country, France. And he does so in a formation that does not exactly lack for famous names – the jazz trio, consisting of piano, bass and drums. In the ensemble’s performances, Middle Eastern sounds, European classical music and borrowings from pop music, free improvisation and traditional jazz are transformed into an organic whole.
