We celebrate 200 years of Konzerthaus Berlin - with Berlin! The Gendarmenmarkt belongs to Weber, Poulenc and Mendelssohn - and of course to the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, chief conductor Christoph Eschenbach and our open-air audience. Weber's „Freischütz“ overture takes us back to the early days of the house, when it and the opera that went with it premiered on 18 June 1821 in what was then the Schauspielhaus, now the Konzerthaus Berlin. Francis Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos introduces our Artists in Residence 2020/21, the brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen. Finally, Mendelssohn's Fourth, his „Italian“, will rise into the hopefully late summer cloudless sky over Berlin. As a cooperation with rbb, the concert will be broadcast live on rbbKultur radio on the same evening and on rbb television at 10 pm. Petra Gute will be the presenter. Important note: Admission to the open air concert is subject to ticketing. A maximum of two free seats per person can be booked. Please inform yourself in advance about the applicable regulations for your concert visit at konzerthaus.de/aktuelle-hinweise.
