A cup of coffee, followed by caffeine for the ears: Almost every week in the early afternoon, outstanding young musicians present a surprise programme that really wakes you up. This afternoon will bring you quite a big sip of espresso. Young conductor Lucie Leguay and rising pianist Yannick Rafalimanana are guests of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Together they will perform works by three French composers – a colourful suite by George Bizet with some of the most famous melodies from his opera hit “Carmen”, César Franck’s “Variations”, which artfully fuses piano and orchestra, and Darius Milhaud’s cheerful “Ox on the Roof”, driven by Brazilian rhythms – naturally, even more elegant in its original French title “Le boeuf sur le toit”.
