In the end, the man in the mercy seat will plead guilty. But what has he done? And how serious is his guilt? At first, he wanders in solitude in search of freedom, evoking Schubert’s “Winterreise” and songs by Nick Cave. Two different musical worlds overlap and merge in a peculiar way in this séance with actor Charly Hübner and the extended Ensemble Resonanz, while spirits emit murmurs of ill-fated love, pain and guilt, failure and loneliness, defeat and death, longing and consolation.
