Rundgang
Genuinely old yet highly spirited: For many seasons now, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin has been demonstrating how stirring music from the 17th to the early 19th century can sound in its own series at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Georg Philipp Telemann’s concertos display a wide stylistic range, oscillating between Vivaldi’s virtuosity, erudite German counterpoint and French noblesse. In this concert, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin pays homage to this familiar companion, whose works have accompanied the ensemble since its founding as a kind of “house composer”.
