#konzertZUhaus – Our online offer for you

Playlists, symphonies, children’s programme and virtual tours

Even when the Konzerthaus is closed – we are still there for you! From now on, the musicians of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and our staff members will be creating an online programme for you every day.

#konzertZUhaus – On all our channels and bundled on our website

What about...?

We regularly post little stories from everyday life as well as recommendations from our musicians and employees in our Instagram Stories and, of course, on Facebook.

This week at #konzertZUhaus

#musicmonday – Playlists on Monday

Classic music for every occasion – whether to start the day, do spring cleaning, romp about with the kids or just relax a bit. Every Monday there’s a new playlist. Compiled for you by our musicians on IDAGIO, the streaming app for classical music.

#throwbacktuesday – A look back on Tuesday

What an eventful history we have – interesting facts, photo galleries and videos from our archives await you every Tuesday.

The Berlin Celebration Concert with Leonard Bernstein

On 25 December 1989, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Leonard Bernstein conducted the “Berlin Celebration Concert” with a huge orchestra consisting of musicians from East and West Berlin, Paris, London, New York and Leningrad. Included on the programme: Beethoven’s moving Symphony No. 9 with the famous final chorus, the text of which Bernstein changed for the occasion. The “Ode to Joy” became the “Ode to Freedom”.

Interactive Wednesday for kids

Rhythm vs. boredom – our solo timpanist Mark and his wife Maren Voermans are producing interactive videos for kids from home. And kids won’t be the only ones amazed at what kind of sounds they produce every Wednesday.

The „Piece of Cutlery“

To the forks! This week Mark and Maren Voermans show how easy it is to make music with cutlery.

Concerts on Thursday

Thursday is the day for pre-recorded concerts and documentaries. You can look forward to a premiere this week: the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, which Christoph Eschenbach describes as “carrying Shostakovich in its DNA”, will play his Fifth Symphony with Christoph Eschenbach conducting.

#reingehört on Friday

Everyone may be at home, but we’re all together – on Fridays our musicians will play key parts from great symphonies for you. In their own living rooms, until they can all gather together again in the Great Hall to play music for you.

Have a nice weekend!

Our technical director Peter Laduch knows the Konzerthaus Berlin like no other. He’ll lead us through the magnificent building on Gendarmenmarkt, which is currently empty, and go backstage for some revealing insights.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend – with contests, quizzes, virtual projects and the odd surprise.
