Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Juraj Valčuha
A special anniversary in a special time - the pandemic restrictions have greatly changed the 2020/21 anniversary season at the Konzerthaus Berlin. We have used these months to implement innovative, often digital formats that present our house in extraordinary ways and bring its music to you - next up with a spectacular new production of "Freischütz" by La Fura dels Baus, which will be streamed live on 18 June. With the start of the 2021/22 season at the end of August, the anniversary year will also continue in a festive analogue way.
„Alles bleibt anders“
We are convinced that music moves people and brings them together! The Konzerthaus Berlin offers an extraordinarily broad musical programme – symphony concerts, chamber music, music theatre productions, children’s concerts, early and new music, festivals and tributes to great personalities from the world of music.
Most of the programmes are performed by the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. The orchestra delights its audience – including 12,000 subscribers – every season with more than 100 concerts under the baton of Principal Conductor Christoph Eschenbach, Honorary Conductor Iván Fischer and Principal Guest Conductor Juraj Valčuha as well as in collaboration with numerous renowned guest conductors and soloists.
Furthermore, we are committed to giving audiences, regardless of their educational or social background, the opportunity to approach classical music in an unbiased manner through a number of special concert formats. These include the enthusiastically received “Mittendrin – Right in the Middle”, where listeners take a seat in the midst of the orchestra during the concert, as well as public rehearsals of the Konzerthaus Orchestra moderated by the respective conductor, our Mozart Matinee with musical childcare and “2 x hören – Hear it Twice CONTEMPORARY”.
