A celebration for Christoph Eschenbach's 80th birthday

Our new principal conductor Christoph Eschenbach will be 80 years old on 20 February 2020. From 25 February to 1 March 2020 we will celebrate with him, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Orchestre de Paris and many other musical companions and friends: singers such as Matthias Goerne, whom he has accompanied on the piano for decades, pianists like Lang Lang and Tzimon Barto, whose musical development he has mentored for years, and string players like violinist Midori and cellist Kian Soltani, who hold the highest esteem for the true musician in the conductor.

Composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Hector Berlioz and Richard Wagner are faithful companions for great conductors – under Christoph Eschenbach’s baton, they too are among those invited to the Konzerthaus Berlin for the celebration!
