Climate-friendly refurbishment Gendarmenmarkt

As part of the climate-friendly refurbishment and further development of the Gendarmenmarkt, extensive construction work is being carried out on the entire square. As a result, access to the Konzerthaus from the neighbouring Markgrafenstraße is closed. You can reach the main entrance in Kutschendurchfahrt from Charlottenstraße along the building (north and south side). If you are travelling on the U2 underground line, we recommend that you get off at the "Stadtmitte" station.

You can still reach the ticket offices in the Visitor Service via the north side of the Konzerthaus, opposite the Französischer Dom. The Café Konzerthaus is closed until further notice.

We regret any inconvenience caused by the construction work.

If you would like to find out more about the climate-friendly refurbishment of the Gendarmenmarkt, you can find the press release from the Berlin Senate here:

Energy-efficient refurbishment of Konzerthaus Berlin

The Konzerthaus Berlin and the administration building in Charlottenstraße are currently undergoing extensive energy refurbishment to significantly improve energy efficiency. For this purpose, our beautiful concert hall is currently covered by large scaffolding and many tarpaulins.

Access to the main entrance in the carriage passage and to the ticket offices in the visitor service area is signposted. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

In our Konzerthaus Magazine, you will get interesting insights into how, for example, 34,000 windows can be renovated to make them more energy-efficient while the concert hall is in operation, or what it looks like in our cellar:

Aktuell geltende Corona-Regeln

Masks will no longer be compulsory during your concert visit. Of course, we leave it up to you to continue wearing a mask during your stay if you feel more comfortable with it.

As a gesture of mutual consideration, we would like to ask you to maintain sufficient distance from each other in the usual way when waiting in the house - be it at the box office, cloakroom or catering - in order to protect yourself and others.

The halls are fully occupied, the minimum distance between seats is waived.

Thank you for your cooperation. Stay healthy!

See you soon at your Konzerthaus Berlin.
